Family Things to do with kids water park

Is Kalahari Cabana worth it?

Now that you have decided to visit America’s largest indoor water park, it’s time to decide whether or not you want to get a Kalahari Cabana. This post will give you all the information you need to know if renting a cabana at Kalahari Poconos resort is right for you.

As you already know, if you have been planning a trip to Kalahari, it is the largest Indoor water park in America. With a reputation like that, people are intrigued to find out how big this waterpark really is. With that said, you can understand how the waterpark can get busy throughout the year.

Do I have to stay at Kalahari to visit the waterpark?

Kalahari has Day passes which you can purchase to visit the waterpark. The day passes can be purchased online before you arrive at Kalahari.

I’m not a big person on planning ahead, but the one thing that I have learned over these last couple of months is you don’t want to plan a big day without getting your tickets in advance to guarantee your entry.

Businesses are changing, and many require online booking ahead of time.

A day pass at Kalahari resort is between $80-$100 for each person if you are not staying at the resort.

If you are staying at the resort, then the passes are included with your stay.

Kalahari Cabanas

Kalahari has 4 types of Cabanas available for rent. You can reserve the cabanas online or once you arrive at the waterpark. Cabanas are subject to availability, so it is on a first-come, first-served basis so if you have plans on reserving a cabana, book it online. That way, you will not have the anxiety of wondering if a cabana is still available.

Cabana types; Outdoor Bungalow, Indoor Party Cabana, Private Whirlpool, and Zulu Cove Cabana.

Is Kalahari Cabana worth it?

Cabanas at Kalahari are worth it. Renting a cabana will save you from having to go to your room to take a break from the waterpark. At times kids can get tired and need a little break from the water. The cabanas are comfortable enough to lounge in and for little ones to nap.

I like to bring my phone and credit card with me when I visit the waterpark, so the safe in the Cabana is a great security feature for storing our items while we are in the water.

If you order an alcoholic beverage, you can take sips and leave it in the Cabana without worrying about anyone moving it. Sometimes it’s hard to drink a whole drink in one sitting. Being able to leave my drink on the table and it still there once I return is a great feeling to have.

During the weekends and peak season, finding seating at Kalahari waterpark can be challenging, especially if you do not get to the park early.

Walking around looking for a free table is not my definition of fun.

Types of Cabanas at Kalahari and what they include.

Indoor Waterpark Cabana

The Cabana comes; with a minifridge stocked 6 water bottles, which are great for after the kids have been running around all day. A safe for us to store our belongings while in the water. A house phone to call the concierge or food servers to order food and drinks. A flat-screen TV which is great to watch when you’re taking a break from the water.

This Cabana also comes with towels for up to 8 guests. The towels in the cabanas are better than the towels in the waterpark because the cabana towels are nice and thick.

The seats in the cabanas are made of wicker, but they also have a soft cushion that’s comfortable and relaxing to sit on.

Do I have to bring my wallet to the waterpark?

If you don’t want to bring your credits to the waterpark, you don’t have to. Kalahari has wristbands you can use to make purchases throughout the property.

With the Blue Wristband, you can use it as a credit card to charge items such as food and merchandise.

With the Green Wristband, it will act as a key for your room, a credit card, and a water park entrance.

The wristbands are great because they allow you to move through the resort without carrying anything with you.

Do I have to bring a towel?

If you visit Kalahari on a day pass, you must bring your own towel. If you need to remember to bring a towel, there is a shop at the water park entrance where you can purchase a towel.

Guests who stay at the resort can use towels provided by Kalahari.

Are life vest provided?

Kalahari waterpark has a variety of life vests available on a first-come, first-serve basis. You can also bring your own life vest if you would like.

When my children were younger, we would bring our life vests just in case our kids did not feel comfortable wearing the provided vests. (Children can get picky at times)

Can I wear water shoes?

Yes, you can wear water shoes in the park to have traction on the floors in the waterpark. Water shoes are not allowed on any of the park rides. There is a designated place close to the rides to store your water shoes while riding. As soon as you are done you can go back and collect your shoes once the ride is over.

Can I bring food into the waterpark?

No, you can not bring food into the waterpark. However, there is food available to purchase. The food options in the cafe near the waterpark include; pizza, fries, chicken wings, salads, hotdogs, chicken fingers, and more.

How much does food cost at Kalahari?

When I look at the reviews for the food at Kalahari, people sometimes say the food can get pricey. The food is responsibly priced.

When visiting the waterpark, we spend about $60-$100 on food for a family of 4-5, depending on what everyone has a taste for.

We usually ordered a pizza, fries, 2 wings, drinks, and a hamburger for the price we paid. After eating at the waterpark, we usually have food left over, which we can take up to our room and snack on later in the night.

Pizza is always good the next day.

What else is there to do at Kalahari?
